Recommendation . Care:

Light:

Bright indirect light

Lady Finger Cactus loves being close to bright, sunny windows.

Place it less than 1 ft from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.

Lady Finger Cactus does not tolerate low-light.

Water:

Cacti, indoors or outside, don’t like to be kept too wet.

You can water it every 25 or 30 days.

Always let your cactus dry out between watering.

Quick Tips:

Watch for signs in the leaves or stems that show that the plant is getting stressed due to a lack of excess moisture. An under watered cactus might look deflated, rubbery, skinny, or pale. At first, an overwatered cactus might look happy and plump, with new pups growing, but waterlogging a cactus will cause its roots to die and rot, so eventually, the plant will get soft and pale. Catch the symptoms early and stop watering too much and often.

Gold Lady Finger Cactus

(Mammillaria elongata)

Is native to central New Mexico. It consists of densely packed clusters of elongated oval stems, covered in harmless yellow or brown spines, and in spring producing white or yellow flowers.

Because their root systems are weak, they are especially prone to root rot, which will eventually kill your plant. Otherwise, they thrive on a program of strong, bright light; slight water; and a steady diet of light fertilizer.
